Methodology

How iGaming Intelligence verifies what it publishes

Every fact in this section is a claim with a source, a quote or value, the date we checked it, the date it must be checked again and a verification status. An official register outranks the company's own website. Unknown values are shown as "not disclosed", never as "no" or zero. Changes that could hurt a business, such as a licence status change, wait for an editor.

Which sources count, in order

  1. Law and the regulator's own pages.
  2. The regulator's licence register.
  3. Official company registers.
  4. Audited accounts and official company reports.
  5. The company's own website.
  6. Established trade media.
  7. Other directories, used only to find leads, never as a source.

All sources in use are listed, with dates and re-use terms, in the source registry.

What never goes live without an editor

An import may record anything, but it publishes only additions that come straight from a register. These always wait for an editor: a new legal conclusion, a new tax or fee amount, a sanction, a licence status change, a link between an operator and a brand without sufficient evidence, and any negative statement about a company. The weekly import opens a review request instead of publishing; nothing reaches the site until an editor approves it.

How the operator sample is chosen

Accounts holding at least one Active Remote licence for Casino, Bingo, Pool Betting or General Betting, ranked by the number of domains declared to the UKGC with status Active or White Label; ties by account number. The rule is applied once and the sample is then kept stable, so profiles do not appear and disappear with weekly counts. It is not a quality ranking: being in the sample says nothing about how good or safe an operator is.

Commercial independence

No company pays to appear, to rank or to have a fact changed or removed. If commercial products are added later (verified profiles, B2B lead requests, data subscriptions), each profile will say so with a visible label, and a commercial relationship will not change verified facts or the order of any list. Player affiliate deals, bonus pages and paid rankings are excluded.
