About Kompanion
Kompanion is Ukraine’s independent finance portal. We help people in Ukraine choose banks, deposits, loans, insurance and financial services based on transparent criteria — not ad banners.
# What we do
Three main products:
- Financial product comparisons — 21 banks, deposits, loans, cards, mortgages, insurance, crypto exchanges. Data refreshed weekly from primary sources.
- Financial calculators — deposit, loan, mortgage, self-employed (FOP), international transfer cost. Real after-tax outcomes, not marketing numbers.
- Practical guides — how to open a sole-proprietorship, close a mortgage, withdraw PayPal, buy crypto via P2P, file taxes. Written for humans, not bankers.

We don’t belong to any bank or financial institution. Our revenue is partner commissions (CPA/CPL) from customers who open products after visiting our site. Those commissions don’t influence rankings — we score products through a published methodology first, then negotiate partnerships with the winners.
# How we work
Article drafts are written by a language model (Claude by Anthropic) from an editorial brief: what decision the reader is making, what search leaves unanswered, which figures will be needed. Tax rates, limits, thresholds and the numbers of laws and regulations come only from the editorial fact register, where every entry is checked against an official source and dated. The main rates from the register are shown in the table on the calculators page.
Before publication a script lists every legal reference and tax figure in the draft. If any of them is missing from the register, the article is not published automatically: an editor checks it first. Rankings follow our methodology, using data from participants’ websites and official registers, with the collection date stated. Details are in the Editorial Policy.
# Our standards
- Source transparency. Every number links to a primary source (NBU, bank, regulator) with the date it was collected.
- Freshness marking. Market data carries a “last checked” date. If it’s stale, we say so.
- Public corrections. We admit mistakes with a “Corrected [date]” block. Spotted an error?
- Independence. No paid rating positions. Sponsored content (rare) is clearly labeled.
# What we don’t do
- No personal investment advice.
- No coverage of gambling, forex scams, or crypto pyramids.
- No “sponsored” articles with pre-cooked conclusions.
- No recommending a product without explaining the selection criteria.
